What is soft-wash roof cleaning?
Soft-washing uses a low-pressure rinse combined with a biodegradable cleaning solution that kills algae, moss and lichen at the root. Unlike pressure washing, it doesn't strip shingle granules, dislodge tiles or void manufacturer warranties.
In Florida's climate, the black streaks you see on most roofs are caused by Gloeocapsa magma — a hardy algae that feeds on the limestone in modern asphalt shingles. Left alone, it spreads, shortens roof life and shows up as ugly staining from the street.
Our process is gentle, effective, and recommended by ARMA (the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association). Results continue to improve for several days after treatment as rain rinses dead growth away.
